About Me

How many of us grew up in families where mental health issues or addiction were happening but never talked about? Maybe you weren’t exposed to it growing up but faced  it later in a friendship or relationship. Either way, you may not have understood what was happening, or how to handle it.

I grew up with addiction surrounding me in my family, although I didn’t know it at the time. As a young adult, I grew to realize and understand how greatly substance use affects the entire family. It was then that I knew I was called to work as a therapist. I wanted to help others receive the support and understanding that I didn’t know existed growing up. So, I left behind ten years as a dance instructor and became a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).

I specialize in helping people address past life experiences that are still affecting them today. This may include trauma that is leading to current anxiety, depression, or post-traumatic stress symptoms. (If you’re not sure what those symptoms may be, I can help with that part). Part of what I offer is EMDR therapy; I’ve been trained since 2015. It’s a specific approach that uses eye movements, sound, or tapping to help fully process emotional pain. It’s a highly researched method, and you can read more about it here.

I am also enthusiastic about helping people understand how they attach to others and how that’s affected relationships over time. Do you notice patterns in your relationships (friends, family, partners) that you’d like to change? I’d love to help with that. It’s not about trying to inflict change on other people; it’s about healing your own attachments and learning more effective ways to navigate your connections.

If you have questions, or would like to connect, here are some ways to contact me.

Experience

My career as an LMHC began with providing therapy in substance abuse facilities at different levels of care. I later traveled all over Palm Beach County as a therapist and manager for the Parent Child Center. There, I provided mental health services to children and families. This opportunity led me to join a clinical team that helped unhoused individuals and families receive emotional support during reentry into society. Later, I served for five years at a residential facility for children and teens with severe mental health concerns, including as the Director of Admissions. I have been in partial private practice since 2016 and am now able to focus on it full-time. I am currently licensed in both Florida and Arizona, and can see clients who reside in both states.
