Clinician Services

Adjunct therapist (EMDR) for your clients and qualified supervision for registered mental health counselor interns in Florida.

This page is for licensed mental health clinicians. I offer EMDR as an adjunct therapist: short-term, targeted work that supports your client while you remain the primary provider.

I also provide qualified supervision for registered mental health counselor interns in Florida. Below you’ll find how each service works and how to get started.

I'm Marisa Knight

I’m an LMHC, LPC, and QS, EMDR trained since 2015 with 12+ years of direct clinical work. My background includes residential care for youth with complex trauma, community programs for children and families, adult substance use treatment across multiple levels of care, and support for unhoused adults and families. I also served as Director of Admissions at a 149-bed residential facility. In adjunct work I provide focused EMDR with clear coordination, strong ethics, and concise updates so your client’s care stays aligned with your plan.

EMDR Adjunct Therapist (Collaborative Care)

When a client needs focused EMDR to move through what’s stuck, I join the team as an adjunct therapist. You keep the case; I deliver tailored EMDR protocols based on need, and coordinate with you so treatment stays coherent and goals aligned. I am trained in EMDR standard protocol since 2014, and can also provide Flash protocol, or those specific to panic attacks, nightmares, or mild dissociation.

What adjunct looks like

  • Fit: specific targets identified, generally stalled progress, or readiness for EMDR within ongoing therapy
  • Scope: resourcing for grounding, EMDR standard protocol or specialized protocols depending on client needs (e.g. nightmares, panic attacks, dissociative tendencies)
  • Duration: typically short-term blocks depending on need; we’ll regularly review the plan together
  • Communication: concise updates at agreed intervals; you remain the clinical home

Boundaries & coordination

  • Primary therapist retains treatment planning and broader goals
  • No long-term transfer of care unless mutually decided

Qualified Supervision (Florida)

I provide qualified supervision for Registered Mental Health Counselor Interns in Florida. Supervision is developmental: skills-focused, and rooted in ethics, case conceptualization, and steady professional growth.

What qualified supervision looks like

  • Format: individual and/or group (virtual)
  • Focus: case conceptualization, clinical point of view, risk/ethics, scope of competence, general field support
  • Cadence: set schedule with documentation, every 1-2 weeks based on availability (no more than two weeks to align with board requirements)
  • Eligibility: Registered mental health counselor intern in Florida; we’ll confirm requirements before we start
  • I provide ongoing support for clinically related needs between supervision appointments

How we’ll collaborate

  • Start with a quick phone or video consult
  • Define goals, talk about the overall process, and ensure you feel it’s a good supervisory fit
  • Begin virtual services on a weekly or biweekly basis
