I'm Marisa Knight

I’m an LMHC, LPC, and QS, EMDR trained since 2015 with 12+ years of direct clinical work. My background includes residential care for youth with complex trauma, community programs for children and families, adult substance use treatment across multiple levels of care, and support for unhoused adults and families. I also served as Director of Admissions at a 149-bed residential facility. In adjunct work I provide focused EMDR with clear coordination, strong ethics, and concise updates so your client’s care stays aligned with your plan.

Does this sound familiar?

  • Overthinking texts or conversations; replaying every detail
  • Fear of being “too much,” or acting out toward partner to elicit a response
  • Communication feels high-stakes; conflict escalates or goes silent
  • Losing sense of who you are, or feeling like you’re not sure where you stop and your partner begins
  • Feeling stuck in relationship patterns, not understanding why the same cycles keep happening
  • You want to feel peaceful and calm in relationships without losing yourself

How therapy helps with relationship anxiety

  • We map your personal cycles (triggers, body cues, protective moves) and you learn more about why it happens so it finally makes sense
  • Build communication skills you can use under stress
  • Practice nervous-system regulation so conversations don’t derail your week
  • When appropriate, integrate EMDR to process sticky experiences that keep the cycle alive

Attachment-informed, skills-forward care

  • Support for fearful-avoidant and disorganized patterns without shame or labels
  • Practical, bite-size home practices so progress shows up in real life
  • Communication therapy elements (brief, concrete drills) to make hard talks easier

EMDR for relationship patterns

When the past keeps tugging on the present, EMDR helps your system process what’s stuck so reactions soften and choices widen. We’ll pace it carefully and keep skills onboard the whole way.

What to expect

  • Secure video telehealth sessions for adults located in Florida or Arizona at the time of session
  • Collaborative, steady pace with no forcing, no rushing
  • Clear goals we revisit together so therapy stays useful

Is this couples therapy?

No, this work is about individual therapy for relationship anxiety and attachment patterns. If you want to work on your side of the cycle (communication, boundaries, more grounded responses), this is for you.
